If I don't take an advance, what happens to my pay?

Setting up direct deposit to your Clair Spending account is the same as sending that direct deposit to any other bank account you may have. If you use On-Demand Pay, the funds are repaid from your Clair Spending Account after your paycheck deposits into your Clair Spending Account or on your assigned due date, whichever is sooner. If you do not take any advances, nothing will need to be repaid, so you will have access to the full amount of your paycheck that you deposit into your Clair Spending Account.

For example: Let's say you have your direct deposit set to send $500 of your paycheck into your Clair Spending Account:

  1. If you take an On-Demand Pay advance of $100, on payday or your assigned due date, whichever is sooner, $100 will be withdrawn from your Spending Account to repay your advance and the other $400 is immediately available for you to spend using your Clair Debit Mastercard®.
  2. If you do not take an On-Demand Pay advance, then on payday, when the $500 deposits, $500 will be immediately available for use with your Clair Debit Mastercard®.
