What does it mean to freeze my card?
Freezing your debit card will temporarily disable it from being used for transactions. For example, if you were to try to use a frozen debit card at a grocery store, the transaction would be declined. This is useful for times when you've misplaced your card and want to ensure that if someone were to find it, they wouldn't be able to spend with it. Once you've found your debit card, you can simply unfreeze the card through the Clair App*. You can freeze and unfreeze your card whenever you like. If after looking you still cannot find your debit card, you can permanently cancel this lost card by ordering a new Clair Debit Mastercard® via the Clair App. To order a new card: Click the “Card” tab in your Clair App Click “Replace My Card” button Indicate why you are requesting a new card (i.e. “my card is lost”, “my card was stolen”, “my card is damaged”) Finalize this replacement by hitting the “Replace My Card” button If you order a new card, remember: You will need to activate your replacement debit card before you can use it for purchases. Be sure to update any recurring payments or subscriptions with your new card number. Your Clair Spending Account will remain open even if your debit card is frozen or canceled. This means that if you direct deposit of payroll into your Clair Spending Account, your paychecks will still deposit into your Clair Spending Account and you can still access Clair On-Demand Pay, transfer money to your other accounts, and request to send a check. Banking Services provided by Pathward, N.A., Member FDIC. *Standard data charges may apply.

What if my debit card is lost or stolen?
Freeze your card and notify us immediately! Email us at support@getclair.com so we can help. If you contact us quickly, you may be able to get your money back if a stranger uses your card. If you think you'll find it again, immediately open the Clair App*, go to the "Card" tab, and press "Freeze my card." This will prevent anyone from using your debit card while you look for it. Check out the "What does it mean to freeze my card" FAQ article found in the Clair Debit Mastercard section for more information. If you would like to order a new debit card, go to the "Card" tab, and press "Replace my card." While you wait for a new debit card, your old debit card will be frozen, and you won't be able to use it for purchases or recurring payments. When you get your new debit card, you will need to activate it before you can use it. As a reminder, once you receive your replacement debit card, you will need to update any recurring payments from your old debit card number to your new debit card number. If this is the first time you've lost your debit card this year, we'll send you a new one without charge. If you've lost your debit card more than once within this calendar year, we will charge you $6.00 to print and ship you a new one. Banking Services provided by Pathward, N.A., Member FDIC. What is a direct deposit?
A direct deposit is an electronic payment made into a savings or spending account. This transfer of money is sent from one bank account to another via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network. Payroll payments are types of direct deposits. Employers send funds to their employees' bank accounts each payday. Once a direct deposit is set up, all paychecks earned by an employee are automatically added to their account balance with no additional actions required. Bank Services provided by Pathward, N.A., Member FDIC.
